From the mysterious jungles of La Macarena<\/strong> to the great plains of Yopal<\/strong> and the vibrant Villavicencio<\/strong>, Colombia’s Llanos<\/strong> reveal a wild, raw and deeply authentic Colombia. Here, landscapes alternate between endless savannahs, jade-colored rivers, solitary palm trees and horizons ablaze with sunsets. But this vastness has a downside: there are very few hostels in the whole of Orinoco<\/strong>. Far from ultra-touristy areas, infrastructure remains limited, scattered between nature reserves, quiet villages and small regional capitals. However, the few youth hostels in the main cities are clearly worth a visit.
