Note: For the camera, we chose a micro 4/3, a format particularly well-suited to travel. More compact and lighter than a full frame, it significantly reduces the weight of the body and lenses, without sacrificing image quality. It also offers excellent stabilization, great optical versatility and more affordable pricing. When traveling, these advantages make all the difference: less clutter, greater responsiveness and more freedom for everyday photography and filming.
Presentation
The Panasonic Lumix G 25 mm f/1.7 is a must-have fixed-focus lens for travelers and content creators who want a lightweight, compact, high-performance lens. With a focal length of 25 mm (equivalent to 50 mm in 35 mm), it covers an angle of view very close to the natural perception of the human eye, making it particularly well-suited to portraits, street photography and spontaneous travel scenes. Its wide f/1.7 aperture allows you to capture images rich in light, even in low-light conditions, while offering a lovely bokeh effect to isolate your subject. Thanks to its lightweight, compact construction, it slips easily into your camera bag without weighing it down, making it a practical choice for hikes, urban strolls or impromptu getaways. With smooth focusing for video and still photography, it’s an excellent lens for those who want to progress without the hassle of a heavier zoom.

Our opinion
On our travels, we’ve found the 25mm lens to be a truly versatile ally for photographing life around us. Whether capturing portraits of travelers, lively street scenes or architectural details, its natural angle of view allowed us to stay creative without changing lenses. The f/1.7 aperture is particularly useful in changing light situations, such as at sunrise in a market or in the evening when dining al fresco – it produces bright images with a nice background blur. On the minus side, we sometimes noticed that the autofocus is not ultra-fast compared to higher-end lenses, which can make it difficult to capture fast-moving subjects. Also, the absence of built-in stabilization means that you sometimes have to be more careful in low light. Despite this, its compact size, light weight and ability to produce crisp, pleasing images make it a reliable travel companion for those who like to shoot with a single, agile lens.
